individual and family counselling and psychotherapy in a traditional office setting as well as the opportunity to experience Equine Facilitated Wellness (EFW) in an outdoor setting, or a combination or both approaches.  Susan Cressy of Highlands Gate Wellness is certified through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and the Professional Association for Equine Facilitated Wellness.  
Highlands Gate offers the opportunity to approach spirituality from a broad perspective and is open to individuals of diverse faiths and spiritualities, including those individuals who do not identify with any religious tradition or spiritual perspective and may wish to explore spirituality for the first time. 

What will counselling be like?

The first visit

Your first session will be a chance to get to know each other, discuss your goals and questions and review the consent form.  The consent form includes information regarding how strict confidentiality is maintained, how your your privacy is protected, my responsibility as a counsellor, and your responsibility as a client.  Their are potential benefits of counselling as well as aspects that may difficult such as making changes, becoming frustrated, committing to working hard, trying new approaches, and exploring some life changes.  If you decide you would like to continue with counselling we will discuss what it may look like for you in terms of the frequency of your sessions, the cost and an approximation of how many sessions you may expect to come.
